Barbara J. Benway, 66, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massachusetts.
Born on March 13, 1952, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Walter Joseph and Evelyn Marie (Shackett) Tracey Sr.
On September 18, 1993, Barbara married James Arthur Benway in Queensbury. Barbara worked for 30 years as a bookkeeper at Hannaford Super Market in South Glens Falls.
Barbara enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors and especially spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandson. She loved taking long rides with her husband in his Camaro. Barbara also enjoyed her anniversary trip with James to Hawaii.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brothers, Philip and Paul Tracey.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 24 years, James; her step-children, Timothy Benway and his girlfriend, Denise Dastalto, Jeffrey Benway and his wife, Kari and Michael Benway; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse, Geoffrey, Matelyn and Lauren Benway; her great-grandson, Jayce Benway; her siblings, Walter Tracey Jr., Mary Lou Cronin and her husband, Michael, and Kathryn Tracey; her best friend, Jody Dake; her good friend, Deborah Clevenger; her dogs, Harley, Abbey, Lily and Maggie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be conducted following the calling hours at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
