WILTON
Richard J. “Rick” Streicher, 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Saratoga Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born January 25, 1953 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Josephine (Rossman) Streicher.
Rick attended Albany High School and then enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country from 1970-1973 during the Vietnam War.
Upon returning home, Rick married the love of his life, Robin Mattison, in Princetown, NY in 1974.
Rick was employed by the Town of Wilton Highway Department for many years. He was also a member of the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, as well as the American Legion Riders.
Rick was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman. He and Robin were known to take cross-country road trips with no particular destination in mind. They just let the open road take them where it pleased. Rick also loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em with his Legion buddies. He was friendly with everyone, strong-willed, stubborn and sometimes honest to a fault. You never had to wonder what he was thinking. Most of all, Rick was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Rick is also predeceased by his grandparents, Jonas and Mary Rossman.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Robin Streicher, his children; Brandon Streicher (Tanya Scuteri), Joseph Streicher, Justin Streicher, and Sheldon Streicher (Amanda), his grandchildren; Owen Streicher, Raelee and Silas Streicher, Lauren and Sarah Streicher, and Shannon, Aubree, Roslyn and Aydon Streicher, his siblings; Donna Bruno (David), Laurie Ann Streicher (Billy) and James Streicher (Elizabeth), as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial service with military honors will be conducted at 2pm on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, with Rev. Deb Peacock officiating.
