Aunt Elsie called me once to tell me my father, her brother, was still alive when I thought he was deceased. My mother recently passed away, and I regret that I haven't known my father's side of the family. I'm thankful that Elsie reached out to me when she did. I'm sorry for your loss.

Dear Linda, So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a beautiful lady and a wonderful mother. I remember the good times we had when I spent overnights at your home on Burgoyne Ave. When my dad passed Jan. of 2009 it left a huge hole in my heart but the memories will never die. Dear Aunt Elsie's Loved Ones, I am so very sad and sorry for your loss. Aunt Elsie was very loved by so many people. That includes me. I have many fond memories with her that I will treasure forever. Growing up, when I took a trip to New York, I couldn't wait to see her and be with her and her family. I always felt love and warmth at Aunt Elsie's home. She treated me like one of her own children. As many of you already know I was on vacation in the keys when I got the news on Saturday that my Gram was beginning her own final journey and that I would likely never see her again. Trapped here in paradise I had lots of time to grieve before she actually passed-on. That was Saturday. It was Aunt Kat that finally put my mind at rest by assuring me that no matter where I was if Gramma passed before I could get home then she would find me and I would know. She was so right... Sunday was torture. The sky grew dark and the wind blew cold...Yeah , here in paradise. We watched a movie while huddled in our room. It ended and right before I went to bed I glanced at the micro-wave display next to my bed ... it read 12:45. The next morning We woke to a beautiful blue sky. The air was warm. I stepped out onto our deck and there were several bright yellow heart-shaped butterflies fluttering around. They made me think of Gram. Then came the phone-call from my sister Sue. Gramma was gone. As I sat numb in the room thumbing through the channels to distract myself from the hurt I stopped on a film that I'd never seen or even heard of. Something told me to continue watching even though it was not the type of movie that I would normally watch. It was a drama starring Shirley Mclaine and Cameron Dias. The name of the film was "In Her Shoes" By the end of this film I knew why and who was asking me to watch this heart-warming story. It was definitely my Gram.....and this is what she had to say to me and to all of you....
