Obituary for Mark Phillips

Mark Phillips, 53, went on his new journey Saturday, October 26, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 21, 1966 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Darlene (York) Phillips and the late William Phillips.

Mark enjoyed riding in his jeep, going to his favorite smoking spot, (Feeder Dam), and watching the animals play in the yard. He was a garage sale enthusiast, looking for the special deal. He loved visiting with his friends always having a story to tell.

He is predeceased by his father, William Phillips.

Survived by his partner Thomas Manley, his mother Darlene Phillips, his stepfather Donald Rowe, brothers William and Raymond Phillips, his "little Smoking buddy" Nicholas Wurst and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family wants to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at New York Oncology and Hematology, especially Kim, Dawn, Christine, Trish and Dr. Bellomo. Your love, compassion and support made this journey bearable. To his transfusion team Georgi and Erin at Saratoga Hospital for your endless commitment to his comfort at every visit. Also to all the staff on D4 at Albany Medical Center for making him feel like family. And to all that supported him in his journey, especially the Jeep cakes, cookies and cupcakes.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held from 1 to 4pm on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at West Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company, 49 Joe Green Road, Fort Ann, NY 12827, please bring a dish if you wish.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mark’s memory can be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, NY 12205.
