Obituary for Maria Flavell

Maria (Fiumara) Flavell, 76, of Apple Valley, CA (formerly of Saratoga Springs), passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 after a long illness.
Born on December 7, 1942, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Anne and Peter Fiumara.
Maria married Alan Flavell in September 1964. They were married for almost 23 years, until Alan passed away in August 1987.
Maria married John William (Bill) Mooney in May 2015.
She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Mildred Elley.
Maria was a former communicant of St. Clement’s Church in Saratoga Springs.
She retired from the Saratoga Springs City School District.
Maria enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her husband, Alan Flavell; her niece, Kristina (Fiumara) Miller; her step-son, Brian Mooney.
Left to cherish her memory include, her husband, Bill Mooney; her sons, Steven Flavell and his wife Tamara, of Salt Lake City, UT and Brian Flavell and his wife Andra, and their two children, Julia and Erica, of Stevenson Ranch, CA; her brother, Richard Fiumara and his wife Karen, of Greensboro, NC and their children, Theresa O’Connell and family of Erie, PA and Andrew Fiumara of Greensboro, NC; her step-children, Colleen Rauh and her husband Wayne, William Mooney and his wife Janet, Glenn Mooney and his wife Michelle, Robert Mooney and his wife Carmel; step-daughter-in-law, Margaret Mooney; her twelve other grandchildren and many cousins from Glens Falls, South Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, Nevada, California and around the country.
Friends and family may call from 10am – 12pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 pm, Saturday January 12, 2019 immediately following calling hours.
Rite of committal will be private and at the convenience of the family.
