Laura E. QUATTROCCHI, 90, of Lake Placid, Fla., formerly of Fort Edward, N.Y., passed away with her family by her side October 17, 2010, in Lake Placid, where she had been residing for the past 10 years.

She was born in Whitehall, N.Y., October 30, 1919, the daughter of the late Henry and Nancy Perry.

She graduated from Whitehall High School and earned a degree from Alfred University. She worked for the Farm Security Administration upon her graduation from Alfred. She was a renowned seamstress in the area, designing and making anything from doll clothes to wedding gowns. Laura was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. Laura and her husband, Anthony, built the Victorian Motel in Fort Edward in 1962 and ran the motel and restaurant business until 1977. She later worked for Washington County before moving to Florida. Laura married Anthony Joseph Quattrocchi of Fort Edward in 1941 and had a family of nine children.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony; her son, Carl Quattrocchi; and her daughter, Linda Quattrocchi; a son-in law, John Stewart; and a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Quattrocchi.

Survivors include five sons, Edward Quattrocchi (Linda) of Lake Placid, Tom Quattrocchi (Rita) of Indianapolis, Ind., Frank Quattrocchi of Lake Placid, Joseph Quattrocchi (Lisa) of New York, N.Y., and David Quattrocchi (Alice) of Brewster, N.Y.; two daughters, Mary Quattrocchi Boucher (Michael) of Queensbury, N.Y., and Victoria Quattrocchi Stewart (Kenneth Turner) of Lake Placid; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. "We would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice as well as her caregivers for the excellent care she received during these last few months."

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 30th, St. Joseph Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

The Rite of committal will follow the Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, Burgoyne Avenue, Fort Edward, NY.

A service was held for friends and family of Laura in Lake Placid, Florida on October 20, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorial contributions be made in Laura' s memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4418 Sun N Lake Blvd, Sebring, FL 33872.
