Wanda A. Haverly went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. We praise God for her long life with us and for her 95 years of fortitude and faithfulness to the Lord.

Wanda was born on August 7, 1923 in Barnard, Kansas to James Allen Adams and Lizzie Clarissa Hickle, being the last of 15 siblings. She grew up and was educated in Canon City, CO, attended Colorado Springs Business College, and moved to South Glens Falls, NY in 1957 to live and be near her beloved sister, Doris.

After relocating to New York, she worked at the Glens Falls Insurance Company and the Glens Falls National Bank and became involved in endless activities. She pursued her passion of teaching, focusing first on ceramics then on the fine art of china painting. She was founder of the Adirondack Ceramic Association, Founder of the Adirondack Region Porcelain Artists, and a member of the World and International Organization of China Painters. She was a 60-year member of the Glens Falls First Baptist Church, a member of the Glen Star Chapter 95 Order of Eastern Star as Chaplain and Historian, a member of the Victorian Social Society of Saratoga Springs, Queen Mother of the Ladies of the Lake Hat Society, and a former member of the Rebecca’s.

Wanda is predeceased by her husbands: Howard Hutchison (her high school sweetheart who served in the WWII Army Air Corp); Albert Washer; Raymond Haverly; step-daughter Deborah Washer Capezzuti, step-son Ronald Haverly as well as her siblings, Alma, Ethel, Lester, Mable, Zelda, John, Floyd, Loy, Mary, Hazel, twins Hancel and Harold, Arthur, and Doris.

At Wanda’s request there will be no calling hours.
