Obituary for Anna E. McKernon

Argyle

Anna Bain McKernon, 91, of Goose Island Road, passed away on Tuesday, November 06, 2018 at the Holbrook Adult Home in Granville.

Born on April 11, 1927, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Janie (Washburn) Bain.

Anna graduated from Argyle Central School in 1944. She worked at the Glens Falls Insurance Company until her marriage on June 18, 1949 to Clifford “Chip” McKernon. They spent 54 years together, living in the family home, on the McKernon Bros. Farm.

She was a member of the Argyle Methodist Church for over sixty years.

Anna enjoyed knitting, loved flowers, writing poetry, cooking and doing things for others. Most of all she devoted her life to her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford McKernon, her son, Craig R. McKernon, her sisters, Doris Rogers and Eileen Sherman and her brother, Roscoe J. Bain.

Survivors include her three sons, Clifford E. McKernon (Diana), Chris A. McKernon (Shelley) and Calvin J. McKernon (Terri) all of Argyle; her eight grandchildren; Carrie Beadnell and her husband, Troy, Kimberly Weber and her husband, Jason, Erin McKernon, Adam McKernon and his wife, Jenn, Matthew McKernon and his wife, Kristen, Tyler McKernon, Sean McKernon, Daniel McKernon; her six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Nathan Beadnell, William and Scott Weber, Easton and Sawyer McKernon; her two sisters, Pauline Shaw and Marion Gillis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Argyle. For online condolences and to view Anna’s Book of Memories, please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.
