Obituary for Ellsworth Lyle "Slim" MacEwan

Ellsworth Lyle "Slim" MacEwan 96 of 236 Main Street South Glens Falls joined the love of his life Rachael Powers MacEwan November 3, 2018 at the Glens Falls Center with his loving family at his side.
Born June 3, 1922 in Jamaica, Long Island. He was the son of George and Josephine Westervelt MacEwan.
Ellsworth and Rachael married on June 6, 1943 at St Mary's Church in Hudson Falls and the couple spent their early years on the family farm on Gansevoort. The couple had 10 children, 24 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-great grandchildren. He worked at the Imperial Paper, Hercules, Ciba Geigy and after his retirement helped his daughter Jane & Jim Burnham in their craft stores. He enjoyed riding his BMW Motorcycle, camping, playing his harmonica and most of all being with his family.
Besides his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sister Althea Best, his brothers: Irving (Bud) MacEwan, George MacEwan, Auger MacEwan, William MacEwan, grandchildren Tammy Webb, Michelle, Noelle, Jacque and Patrick Thibeau and Timothy Johnston.

Friends may call from 11-1pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm following the calling hours with Rev. Guy A. Childs of St. Michael the Archangel Church and Rev. Leonard A. Oates of the Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church officiating.
Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
