Condolence: As the first anniversary of Byron's passing approaches, we are remembering him, his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Mr Lapham was my 6th grade teacher in Altamont. I was very shy, he took special steps to encourage me out of my shell. He brought his wife and 2 small sons to the Altamont farms where I lived, to show them the apple orchard. I became their babysitter on special occasions. I have always remembered his kind, gentle, supportive demeanor. I am sorry not to have found him sooner. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have always loved Mr. LAPHAM.

Condolence: Dear Tom, Mrs. Lapham, John & Mike, - Having been fortunate enough to grow up in such a close relationship with your family my memories of Mr. Lapham are many. Although he was a man of few words, his calm presence and demeaner was always so supportive and accepting. On Dake Ave. and at the Lake not only did Mr. Lapham treat all of us kids as one of his own but he also befriended our parents, celebrating their accomplishments and supporting them in their emotional times of need. He was a helpful man. I am sorry to not be able to attend his memorial service but know that tomorrow I will be thinking of you all and be sporting the same little grin Mr. Lapham would throw our way when he would catch us in the middle of something. We were fortunate to be their friends over many years and so enjoyed seeing them at their lake cottage. We know that the Lord's Grace and Peace abides with By forever.

I am so sorry to hear of By's passing, though I have no doubts that his spirit is now in the constant presence or God... Such a lovely, lively, intelligent man! I know he will be missed by many. Condolence: Reading the story of By's life is so heartening. We hear too many stories of badly lived lives, but not the quiet heroes who live truly exemplary lives. I remember seeing Mr. Lapham around school, and sensing his quiet warmth, but only now realize the great work he was doing. My heart goes out to you, Tom and family, for your tremendous loss.
