Jean C. Irwin, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018, surrounded by her family at Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born on January 7, 1926, in Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Hugo Cutter Sr. and Bertha (Fisher) Cutter.

Jean graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island and after graduation went on to receive her Associates Degree in Business.

On May 22, 1948, Jean married the love of her life, Bruce Thomas Irwin in Staten Island. They spent 38 years together until his passing in July of 1986. Before his passing, Jean and Bruce fulfilled their dream of owning and operating the Tee-Bird Country Club in 1962. Jean carried on the business until 2006 with her son, Daniel.

Jean loved golfing, bowling, cooking and spending time with her family. For many years she volunteered for the Glens Falls Hospital Guild and for Hospice. She was also a member of the Adirondack Red Wings Booster Club.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jean was predeceased by her brother, Hugo Cutter Jr. and her very special cousin, Ruth “Bootsie” Sexton.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Tobi Irwin and Daniel Irwin; her grandchildren, Jason Irwin, Shaunn Irwin and Jessica Russo; her great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Dilley, Julian Stedman, Brayden Doner, Paulie Butler and Rhyan Butler; her sister, Shirley Brown; daughter-in-law, Debra Irwin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Jean’s request there will be no calling hours.

Burial and services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
