Condolence: I was reluctant to write anything here because I had so much to say about Mr. Kristel. I did not want to be wordy or write at great lengths at a time like this, But Mr. Kristel was my 7th grade industrial arts teacher, no easy task in itself. He was also my 7th, 8th and 9th grade basketball coach. He left an indelible impression on me and our basketball team. He was not just a great teacher but a great coach who constantly impressed upon us fundamentals. He believed in his students and his teams and always juxtaposed lessons in basketball to how they can be applied in life. He inspired us and challenged us at the same time. He also firmly disciplined us. He made it a point to continue that relationship long after we left high school. He even let me know on a few occasions that If I ever needed anything in college, to talk or even help with money, to never hesitate to call him. He even offered that sentiment long after college. He took the time to come out to Minnesota to attend my wedding, befriending many people during his short stay. I know basketball lost a great coach, Glens Falls lost an incredible teacher, and many of us lost a wonderful person and friend. My prayers go out to Coach Kristel's family. Michael Wade

Condolence: So sad to read of Brian's passing. Brian and brother Bruce taught me a lot about trucking as we worked together at Preston in the 70's and 80's. Ironically he later worked for me at Potter's in the summers and nights while still attending to his first love of teaching. Brian really enjoyed bringing Robbie, his 'copilot' along with him on various runs. He built me a foot stool in the 90's as by now I was in the office full time. He said "Here this is for you, hope it makes sitting at that desk easier." It did and was an example of how thoughtful he was. I still have it, it's as good as the day it was built and I think of him every time I stand on it. He was a good employee, a good truck driver, a good teacher, a good friend and a good, good man. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
