Obituary for Robert "Bob" Moran

Robert Moran, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at his home with his cat, Cookie, by his side.

Born on August 14, 1935, in Watervliet, NY, he was the son of the late John and Irene (Lee) Moran.

Bob attended Hudson Falls Central School until 7th grade. He married the love of his life, Doris Mae Greeno, on November 30, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Glens Falls with the Rev. A King Wise, officiating when they were both 17 years old. They were married for 58 years until her passing in June of 2011. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956.

In 1964, Doris insisted she and Bob started Sunnyside RV Sales. Bob was the salesman and Doris was the bookkeeper. They closed in 1981 and reopened as Sunnyside Cap Sales in 1984 with their son, Jeff. Bob was active in the business until his retirement.

Bob enjoyed riding and taking his 1932 Chevrolet to car shows. He was a member of the VCCA (Vintage Chevrolet Cars of America). Bob was an avid country music fan, and enjoyed visits to Stewarts for coffee with his friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and working when he was able.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was predeceased by his siblings, Ronny and Jack Moran; and his infant sister, Mary Ellis.

Survivors include his sister, Joan Potvin of Fort Edward; his children, Sherill Greco and her husband, Kelly of Schenectady, Cindy White of Springfield, OH, Carole Howard and her husband, Dave of Glenville, NY and Jeff Moran and his wife, Tracey of Wilton; his grandchildren, Eric Darrah Jr. (Selene), Robert Darrah (Melissa), William Clauss (Sandy), Jennifer Brackett (Ashley), Shane Gilman (Mel), Jason Gilman (Amber), Melissa Strong (Jason), Darren Moran (Nicole); his great-grandchildren, Christain Darrah, Ashley Clauss, Paul Clauss, Caleb Gilman, Sarah Gilman, Demi Rizo (Daniel), Aleynah Thorton, Riley “Nate” Thorton, Lucas Strong, Devin Strong, Lexi Moran, Richard Morse and Isabella Brackett; great-great-grandchildren, Jameson Sutliff and Luna Rowe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
