Obituary for Anne Frances Powers (Meyer)

SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Anne F. (Meyer) Powers, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born October 31, 1936, in Troy, NY, Anne, the apple of her father’s eye, was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Norris) Meyer.

Generations of students affectionately referred to her as “Ma Powers” and knew that they could confide in her when they needed guidance or acceptance. She was never judgmental and always made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated. Her exceptional service to the school and to the students earned her a place in the Bulldog Hall of Pride.

Anne also loved the ocean and referred to it as her “Happy Place”. She enjoyed traveling to Cape Ann and Myrtle Beach. Family was the most important thing to Anne, and she loved spending time with them and taking care of them. She will always be remembered for her extraordinary sense of humor and wit.

In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Touftegard and Mary Henzel, her brother, David Meyer, as well as her beloved pug Sir Louis and FiFi the famous poodle.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Patricia Diamond (Jack), Debra Rowell (Micky), Jerry Powers (Laura), Michael Powers, Jeffrey Powers (Kathy), Susan Powers (Jeff), Andrew Powers (Deena), Judy Powers (Frank), Kenneth Powers, and Kathleen Powers, her grandchildren; Kimberly Diamond, John Diamond (Chau), and Lyndsie Diamond, Amy Bly (Jason), Alyssa Rowell, and Matthew Rowell (Laura), Patrick Powers (Erica), Daniel Powers (Alicia), Jerry Powers (Jenn), and Michaela Powers (Andy), Adam Powers and Sarah Powers, Rylee Powers, Nicholas Buttino, Aliyah Hart, Jessica Mulcahy (Adam), Samantha Ross (Adam), Rebecca Mulcahy (Robinson), Kyle Mulcahy (Kate), and Tyler Mulcahy, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law Nancy Meyer, many good friends, as well as Rudy the Chihuahua.
