Obituary for Kyle McMurtry

Kyle McMurtry

Kyle P. McMurtry, 23, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident.

Born December 5, 1994, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Kevin McMurtry and Sally Long.

Kyle attended Glens Falls High School and graduated from Long Lake Central School. He excelled in many sports including soccer, baseball and tennis. He also attended SUNY Adirondack.

Kyle was an associate at Stewart’s Shops where he loved working. He had an unparalleled intellectual curiosity and loved to learn new and interesting things by listening to podcasts and watching videos. He was wise beyond his years.

Kyle was quick-witted and had an immense sense of humor. He had a huge smile that was warm and inviting which led to his natural connection to people. He always made others feel better about themselves. He was a good son, good brother, good friend to others, and a member of the “McCousins” who had a positive energy that could light up the room.

Kyle was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Martha Baldwin and Frank Long, as well as his paternal grandparents Helena and George McMurtry.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Sally Long and Kevin McMurtry (Patti Zimmermann), his sister, Rachael McMurtry (Jason Porter), his step-brother Kris Jourdan (Dawn McCallen), his step-sisters, Moriah Seybold and Tiara Zimmermann, his aunts and uncles, Christopher and Janie McMurtry, George and Kristen McMurtry, Margaret and John Dillon, Susan Long, Maureen and Stephen McKinney, Missy and Kris Smith, Brian and Kelly Baldwin, many beloved cousins, many close friends, and his favorite dog Coco.
