Robert H. Russ, 51, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
Born April 27, 1967 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Frank O. Russ and Elizabeth (Nichols) Czapluk.
Robert graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush,NY in 1985.
He was self-employed as a contractor after previously working for the Rensselaer County Highway Department.
Robert enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a sports fan, and especially loved NASCAR, the NY Giants, and the NY Yankees. Robert loved boating and absolutely loved living at the lake.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his step-father Stanley Czapluk as well as his brother Andrew Russ.
Left to cherish his memory are his partner of 6 years, Chrys McCarthy, his daughter Elizabeth Russ, his brother Ken Russ (Sue), his sisters; Connie Barna, Linda Schroder (David), Nancy McKeon (Kevin), and Becky Carolan (Ed), his grandchildren; Isabella Cary, and Quinten and Keegan Weir, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dogs, Maggie and Roscoe P. Coletrain.
Friends may call from 2-4pm on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4pm at the funeral home following calling hours.
Burial will take place at the Warrensburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
