Argyle and Granville
Loren “Mike” Allen Hart, 78, passed away peacefully and loved, on Thursday, May 24, 2018, surrounded by his family at his home in Granville.
Born on May 16, 1940, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ray and Lorene (Lewis) Hart.
Mike was a 1957 graduate of Argyle Central School. He spent his life farming at the family home on Dutchtown Road in Argyle.
He enjoyed family gatherings, visiting and laughing with many special friends. Mike loved going for rides, especially with his dog.
Mike was known as “Uncle Mike the Great” to all his nieces and nephews. He would ask them “who’s the greatest?” and they would all jump up and scream “Uncle Mikes the Greatest!”, then he would give them quarters. He has always served as a father figure to them and they enjoyed many fond memories at the farm, especially the hay rides.
In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his grandparents, Edith and August Nylander; his sister, Rita Tuck; his nephews, Mark Williams and Russell Tuck.
Left to cherish his memory include his beloved dog, Chancie; his sisters, Marilyn Shaw and her husband, Fred of Whitehall, Joan Williams of Fort Edward; his aunt, Mary Lou Bentley of Vernon, VT; his nieces and nephews, Laura McPhee and her husband, Robert of Pace, FL, Jeff Guitar of Granville, Lynda Jimenez of Whitehall, Lesley Backus of South Glens Falls, Cyndi Ward and her husband, Jim of Sierra Vista, AZ, Robert Tuck and his wife, Lisa of Warner Robins, GA, Susan Boyle and her husband, Ray of Minneapolis, MN, Larry and Danny Williams of Fort Edward; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Mike’s wishes a generous scholarship fund will be established in his memory at Argyle Central School.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen McLean, officiating.
Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle.
