Samuel "Rocky" Iuliucci, 77, of West Road, and a former resident of Prospect Street, Fort Edward, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 8, 2009.

Born on March 7, 1932 in Fort Edward, he was the son of Samuel and Mary (Aurelia) Iuliucci. He spent his younger years in Fort Edward and attended Fort Edward Schools. He joined the Army at an early age and spent some of his service time stationed in Germany.

Upon his discharge from the Army he returned to Fort Edward and went to work at Scott Paper Company, retiring from there after 40 years of service.

Rocky loved horses, for many years he and his brothers worked harness horses on their 1/4 mile track at their farm in Durkeetown. The horses would then race the Harness Tracks at County Fairs and Saratoga Harness Track. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, sports he especially enjoyed with his son Paul. He was a lover of the out of doors and enjoyed spending time at his camp at Lake Cossayuna.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Lois Iuliucci and his brothers Anthony "Fraggs" Iuliucci and Tom Iuliucci.

Survivors include his son Paul Anthony Iuliucci of Fort Edward , his long time companion Antoinette "Toni" Haley of Argyle, his grandson Mathew Nevins of Fort Edward, his brothers: Angelo Iuliucci of South Glens Falls; James Iuliucci of Hudson Falls and John Iuliucci of Schuylerville and his sisters Rose Norton and Susan Murphy both of Florida. Rocky is also survived by "Toni's" children Elizabeth Haley of Hudson Falls, Helen Grimes and her friend Claude of Warrensburg, Michael Haley and his wife Melissa of Fort Edward and his nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the family's request there will be no calling hours and the funeral and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
