Fort Edward
Joan M. Bennett, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 at home.
Born in Fort Edward, on June 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Lillian (Weaver) Bennett.
She was a graduate of Fort Edward High School, Class of 1960. After graduation she worked as a legal secretary for Art Greenburgh and retired from the law firm of Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart, & Rhodes, P.C.
Joan was a member of the Church of the Messiah in Glens Falls.
She enjoyed Bingo, her cat who adopted her, George, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her parents, Joan is predeceased by a brother, David Bennett, and sister in-law, Sarah “Sally” L. Bennett.
Left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Stuart Bennett, Nancy Brockway and husband Larry both of Queensbury and Florida, Marcia Guffey and Fiancé George Reick of Ankeny, Iowa, sister in-law, Wanda Bennett, nieces and nephews, Timothy Brockway and wife Maureen, Jon Brockway and wife Lisa, Pamela Heil and husband Christopher, Scott Bennett and wife Kara, Angela Luttenegger and husband Gregory, and Mark Bennett and wife Sashiko, along with many grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Church of the Messiah with Rev. Karl Griswold-Kuhn, pastor of, officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery, Fort Edward, NY.
