Francis Arthur “JR” Jarvis Jr., 65, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born March 2, 1952 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Francis Arthur Jarvis Sr. and Cecelia Amelia (Walkup) Jarvis.
JR attended Queensbury High School. On May 15, 2001, JR married Gail Holcomb in Fort Edward. He worked for Price Chopper in Glens Falls for 11 years until his retirement in 2010.
He loved golfing, fishing, bowling, hunting, playing cards, reading, watching sports on TV, scratch off tickets and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to his parents, JR was predeceased by his step-brother, Clyde James Bennett and his brother-in-law, Dave TeBordo.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 16 years, Gail; his children, Heather Sweet and her husband, Steven, Kevin Guilder and his wife, Vickie, Roy Guilder and his wife, Candy; his grandchildren, Derrick and Emily Guilder; his siblings, Linda Smith and her husband, Steve, Fred Bennett (Georgia), Timothy Bennett and his wife, Martha, Patricia TeBordo and David Jarvis (Marsha); his special nieces, Jessica Jarvis-Guay and Melissa Fallen; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
At JR’s request there will be no calling hours.
Burial and services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
