Argyle
Robert Reynolds, 81, passed away Saturday January 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Hartford on August 23, 1936 he was the son of the late Merritt Sr. and Ruth (Huggins) Reynolds.
He graduated from Argyle High School Class of 1954.
On September 15, 1962 Robert married the love of his life Betty Lewis at the Presbyterian Church in Salem.
Robert was a self-employed dairy farmer until 1990 when he started driving school bus for Argyle for 20 years.
He was a trustee and financial secretary at the Adamsville Church for many years.
Robert recently attended the Argyle Presbyterian Church.
Robert enjoyed family outings with his children and grandchildren. He loved his job as a school bus driver, working the fireman’s booth at the Washington County Fair as well as other fund raising activities at the firehouse. He also enjoyed his many cruise trips.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy R. Reynolds, Eleanor R. McClenning and Beverly Liddle.; brother, Merritt Reynolds Jr.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years Betty Reynolds of Argyle; his children, Kathy Murphy and her husband Brian of Queensbury, David and his significant other Marie of Salem and Daniel and his wife Melissa of Argyle; grandchildren, Michael, Bradley and Meghan Murphy, Erica and Christopher Reynolds, Shayla Pratt; sisters, Carolyn Getty of Hartford, Shirley Robertson of Greenwich; brother-in-law’s, Bob Liddle of Colorado and Jack McClenning; sister-in-law Naomi of Argyle; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Robert’s request there will be no calling hours.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on Monday January 15, 2018 at 5p.m. at the Argyle Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen McLean officiating.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10 am on May 19, 2018 at Morningside Cemetery.
