Walter L Shaw, 85, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Saratoga Center for Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
Born on February 2, 1932 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Robert and Lessie (Patrick) Shaw.
On August 11, 1950, Walter married Phyllis Brownell. Walter served in the Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956 as a tank mechanic. Throughout his life he worked as a logger and a mechanic at Boucher’s Garage in Hartford. For many years he worked as a Grounds Keeper at the Top of the World Golf Course in Queensbury until his retirement.
Walter enjoyed watching John Wayne and western movies. He was a hard-working man who loved working on cars and in his woodshop.
In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his siblings, Stella Bailey, George Shaw, Harold “Francis” Shaw, Stanley Shaw, Raymond Shaw and Arthur Shaw; his grandson, Christopher Bradley.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Phyllis; his children, David Shaw and his wife, Nina, Donald Shaw and his companion, May, Jeanne Clogston, Kevin Shaw, Jeffery Shaw, Lessie Bourne and her husband, Willard, Michael Shaw, Michele Cross and her husband, Roderick; his sister, Lorraine Gould; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial will be conducted following the funeral service at North Granville Cemetery, State Highway 22, Granville, NY.
