Betty J. (Gifford) Richardson, 90, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 18, 1927 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle (Putman) Gifford.
Betty graduated from Gloversville High School in 1944 and went on to become a beautician in 1945 at Royal Academy of Beauty Culture in Albany.
On July 7, 1946, Betty married Donald A. Richardson in St. Mary’s Rectory. They spent 52 years together until his passing in 1998.
In 1950, Betty owned the Cinderella Beauty Shop in her home. Later Betty worked in the Joy Store for nine years. Before retirement Betty worked with her sisters as a retail merchandiser for Hallmark Greeting Cards.
Betty enjoyed traveling with her sisters and especially loved spending time with her family and beloved pets.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is predeceased by her siblings, Helen Shillings, Dorris Grant, Donald Gifford, Marion DeLafleur, Vernon Gifford, Clark Gifford, Charles Gifford, Patricia Maher and Barbara Gifford.
Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Donald Richardson and his wife, Shery, Gary Richardson and his wife, Melissa, and Jeffrey Richardson; her daughter, Heather Desautels Lareau and her husband, Peter; her grandchildren, Scott Richardson, Christy Loiselle and her husband, Damon, Thomas McAuley and his wife, Trish, Tammy Lynn McAuley, Timothy McAuley and his wife, Jenn, Michael Richardson and his wife, Ashlee, Meghan Carso and her husband, Robert, Aaron Schultz, Nicholas Desautels, Ryan Desautels, Rachael Desautels and Andrea Lareau; her great-grandchildren, Brendan, Kevin, Sawyer, Corinne, Carys, Tristan and Bailey; her sisters, Shirley Estes and her husband, Harold, Sally Brenner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. William Puckey, pastor of South Glens Falls Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Southside Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
