Durkeetown
Emerson "Em" Grant, 88, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Washington Center, Argyle.
Born on October 28, 1929 in Durkeetown, he was the son of the late Cameron and Christena (Wood) Grant.
Em sold farm machinery for New Holland, Oliver Tractor and Massey Ferguson and in the winter, he plowed for the Town of Fort Edward. He later retired as a millwright supervisor for Sandy Hill Corp. in Hudson Falls. Em was on the Washington County Fair Board for many years and a 4-H leader. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, telling jokes but especially he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Anita (LaPointe) Grant, his brother, C. Alfred “Bud” Grant and his wife Theresa and sister, Jean Cutler and her husband Robert.
Left to cherish his memory include his children, Susan Perry, Deborah Porter (Ed) and Emerson L. Grant significant other, Melissa Burnett all of Durkeetown; six grandchildren, Michele Normile, Stephanie Griffin (Robert), Tyler Perry, Travis Perry, Ryan Porter and Megan Porter Riley; great grandchildren, Alexis & McKayla Brockway, Chelsey Morrison, Ashleigh and Ethan Pitts, Bri & Kayla Griffin, Zack & Conner Riley and Landyn Nolan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Services will be conducted 1pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Union Cemetery, Fort Edward.
