Obituary for John Thomas Dillon

John T. Dillon, 96, went into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Mr. Dillon was born on February 14, 1921 in Utica, NY he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Dunning) Dillon.

He graduated from Lowville Academy in Lowville, NY. Mr. Dillon received his M.B.A. at SUNY Albany.

Mr. Dillon served his country with pride in the United States Army during WWII.

He married Jean Morse at the Church of the Annunciation on September 22, 1945 in Ilion, NY.

Mr. Dillon taught business at Saratoga Springs High School for many years.

He belonged to the New York State Retired Teachers Association, Saratoga Springs Retired Teachers Association and the American Legion Post 278, Schuylerville.

Mr. Dillon loved to read.

In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Dillon; his daughter, Sharon Dillon; two brothers, Robert and Ward Dillon, as well as his brother-in-law, George Morse.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Martha Dillon of South Glens Falls, and Linda Nadeau (Dennis) of Greenwich; sister-in-law, Delores Morse of Cohoes; and nephew Geoffrey Morse (James Scaglione).

At John’s request there will be no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Community Animal Action Project, 12 Spring St. Schuylerville, NY 12871.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Cunningham and the staff of Irongate Center, Adirondack Cardiology, and the 6th Floor Telemetry staff at Glens Falls Hospital for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank the entire staff of the Home of the Good Shepherd in Moreau for providing Dad excellent care and friendship.
