Fort Edward
Joseph F. Fisher Sr., 91, of Fort Edward passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Pines of Glens Falls.
Born on April 24, 1926 in Mexico, Maine, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Kearny) Fisher.
He enlisted into the Navy during World War II. After being in the Navy for three years, Joe worked for 40 years at Scott Paper as a Beltman.
On June 6, 1948, Joe married Rosemary Reardon at the St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls. They spent 48 years together until her passing in 1996.
Joe enjoyed gardening at his home and around his camp. He also liked watching the birds and making bird houses. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and helping others any way that he could.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joe is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Pidgeon, Rita McHenry and Helena Montgomery; his brothers, Adrian Fisher and Louis Fisher.
Left to cherish his memory include his sons, Leonard Fisher, Rick Fisher and his wife, Bonnie, Jody Fisher and his wife, Cheryl, Jim Fisher and his wife, Nancy and Scott Fisher and his wife, Barbara; his grandchildren, Rick Fisher and his wife, Kristy, Travis Fisher and his wife, Stephanie, Pat Fisher and his partner, Amanda Diffee, Matt Fisher, Tiffany Fisher, Brian Fisher and his wife, Morgan, Cameron Fisher, Maggie Fisher, Scott M. Fisher, Shawn Fisher and Kyle Weyant; his great grandchildren, Jayce, Emma, Samantha, Madison, Nick, Mackenzie, Olivia, Ava, Austin and Mia; his sister, Margaret Byrne; his brother, Peter Fisher; and his relatives in Prince Edward Island, Canada; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jan Coons, Shawn Jimenez and Gale Byrne for supporting Joe through this time. They would also like to thank the 2nd Floor at the Pines of Glens Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm on Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
The Rite of Committal with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward, Following the burial, all are invited to the Fort Edward Fire Dept on Broadway, for a reception.
