Walter O. Mattison, 71 , of West Road, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2017 at his home following a long illness.
Born on June 5, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Gordon and Ida (Bennett) Mattison.
He married the love of his life, Sharon Tromblee, on October 9, 1971 at St. Teresa Chapel in Gansevoort.
Walt graduated from Queensbury High School and retired as a baker at Dunkin Donuts after 44 1/2 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, great granddaughters and his children.
In addition to his parents, Walt was predeceased by his grandson, Jordan Tyler Mattison; his siblings, Gordan Mattison, Florence (Mattison) Vaughn and Robert Mattison.
Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of 45 years include his children, Todd Mattison of Argyle; Tracy Caprood and her husband, Albert of Argyle; his grandchildren, Tiffany Seney and husband Joseph, Ryan and Ethan Mattison, Garrett and Shelby Caprood; his great granddaughters, Kiley Millis and Sophie Seney; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law.
At Walt’s request there will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Walt’s life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Argyle American Legion Post 1518, 7 County Rt. 47, Argyle, NY 12809..
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
