John Leland Adams Jr., 42, of Seminary Street, passed away on Friday January 20, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 12, 1974, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Leona (Winney) Adams of Fort Edward and the late John “Jack” Adams Sr. who passed away in 1989.
John was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School class of 1993.
He was employed for the last 20 years with the Pregis Corp. in Glens Falls, a place where he made many friends.
Over the past few years he had developed a passion for refereeing girls’ basketball as well as umpiring baseball games. He was a very proud member of the New York State Girls Basketball Officials Association (NYSGBOA) as well the New York State Baseball Umpires Association (NYSBUA).
On April 2, 2013, John married the love of his life, Erica Tilford in Hart’s Location, New Hampshire.
John loved spending time with his family but most important to him were his three step sons, whom he coached in sports and attended any sporting event and school activity when possible. He was passionate about being physically fit and enjoyed going to work out at the gym.
Besides his father, he is also predeceased by his brother, Michael Shane Adams, who passed away in 2016.
Left to cherish his memory besides his mom, are his wife, who loved him unconditionally; his 3 step-sons that he considered and loved as his own; Cameron, Brody and Ashton Sullivan; his brother and best friend, Mickey Genier and his wife Sherry; his nephew, Brian Genier and his wife, Sarah; and his niece, Brittany Schroeck and her husband, Adam; his loving in laws, Ken and Joanne Tilford, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends that he loved as family.

A prayer service will follow the calling hours at 7pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, leading prayers
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
