Obituary for Frederick H. "Bud" Sullivan

Frederick “Bud” Sullivan, 94, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 with his family by his side.

Born in South Glens Falls on January 28, 1922 he was the son of the late Augustus and Ethel (Holleran) Sullivan.

Bud graduated from Hudson Falls High School. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country in World War II.

Bud was a long time employee of the NYS Department of Transportation as the equipment operator and dispatcher.

He was an avid bowler and bowled on many teams throughout the area. Bud also enjoyed giving back to the community. Walking in the March of Dimes fundraiser was extremely important to him, as well as Operation Santa Claus, and the Crop Walk. Bud was also known for his singing and enjoyed karaoke well into his eighties. He was passionate about politics and will always be remembered for his many published Letters to the Editor. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all, Bud loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased his step-mother Agnes Sullivan, his brother Loren Sullivan and his wife Agnes, his special cousin Jean Daly, and his good friend Sylvia Gitto.

Left to cherish his memory include his children; Betty Nicholson and her husband Dave, Bill Sullivan and his partner Jeremy, and Loren Sullivan and his wife Valerie, his grandchildren; Michele Nicholson, Mark Nicholson and his wife Susan, Naomi Nicholson, Caleb Nicholson, Sarah Millington and her husband Adam, Ashley Benoit and her husband Jesse, Brittany Washburn and her husband Tim, and Steven Sullivan, his sister-in-law Phyllis Sullivan, his niece Marcia Sullivan, his nephews; Loren Sullivan and Brian Sullivan, 9 great-grandchildren, as well as his former wife Marian Bryant and her husband Burton, and longtime family friends Brian and Lorraine Davidson.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 12p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Main St. Fort Edward, NY 12828.

Rite of committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

Memorial donations in Bud’s name can be made to The March of Dimes, 4 Computer Dr W #201, Albany, NY 12205.
