Maria Jeanne Voordeckers, age 95, of Reynolds Road, passed away on October 26, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born in Olmen, Belgium on January 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Eugeen and Rosalia (Van Meensel) Voordeckers.
She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and in 1958 she became a Naturalized Citizen declared by the Supreme Court State of New York, County of Schenectady.
Maria graduated from the Austin School of Beauty in January of 1962. She spent many years as a business owner and hair dresser, owning and operating Maria’s Beauty Salon on Bacon Street in Glens Falls and later on Reynolds Road in South Glens Falls. She was a long time member of New York State Cosmetology Association. She enjoyed gardening and needlework.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her six sisters, four brothers and grandson Michael Scheidegger.
Survivors include daughter Trudy Scheidegger and her husband William; granddaughter Krista Valla and her husband Wade; grandson Erik Scheidegger and his wife Connie; great granddaughters Grace and Kaitlin Valla; Taya and Genoa Scheidegger and several nieces and nephews around the world.
At Maria’s request there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Greenridge Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.
