MSGT. David L. Severance, Ret., 68, of Argyle passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at his home with his care giver by his side, after a brief battle with lung and kidney cancer.
Born September 29, 1947 in Cambridge he was the foster son of the late Curtis and Frances Knowlton of Argyle.
Dave graduated from Argyle High School, after graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force and had 21 years of service. After his service to his country, Dave spent 16 years as a delivery driver for the Post-Star, no matter the weather Dave always made sure his customers received their paper. You could find Dave in his spare room putting doors on the paper boxes so his customer’s papers didn’t get wet.
He enjoyed golfing doing crossword puzzles and sitting in his tree house in the summer watching the ball games at the Little League fields.
Left to cherish his memory includes his care giver, Debra Dessaint Newsome and her children Mike Newsome, Samantha Newsome and her companion Zach Auclaire; The Dessaint family of Argyle, and a cousin Sheila Knowlton of South Glens Falls.
The family would like to thank High Peaks Hospice for the great care they gave him and the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital in Albany.

Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at 12:30p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871
