GLENS FALLS

Joyce L. (Harris) Eggleston, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born September 4, 1938, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Sarah (Miller) Harris.

On August 14, 1955, Joyce married Sherrill “Jerry” Eggleston in Lake George, NY.

Joyce was a lifelong member of Christ Church United Methodist in Glens Falls, NY.

Joyce will always be remembered for her love of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed bird watching and anything involving wildlife and nature. Joyce loved her “goodies” and always appreciated a good piece of chocolate, cakes, and other sweets.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Wood and her husband Donald, her sisters-in-law Mildred Harris and Alice Harris, and her brother-in-law Lloyd Higgins.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years, Sherrill “Jerry” Eggleston; her brothers, Phillip Harris and his wife Pauline, William Harris and his wife Jean, and Donald Harris; her sisters, Gail Goodrich and her husband Don, and Carol Higgins; her daughter Heidi MacDuff and her husband William, her son Wesley Eggleston, her grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Matt, Jessie and her husband Charles, Bradley and his wife Kathleen, Jared, and Audrie, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Joyce’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
