Fort Edward-

Muriel G. Nadeau, 87, of Fort Hudson Nursing Home went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

Born in Saratoga Springs on June 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Julia (Elvin) Germain.

Muriel graduated from Schuylerville High School in 1944.

On January 6, 1946, she married J. Alexis Nadeau. They were married 63 years before his passing.

She worked at General Electric Company in both Fort Edward and Hudson Falls and retired after 36 years of service.

Muriel’s first love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed various crafts, puzzles and playing cards with friends and family.

Besides her parents and husband, Muriel is predeceased by a sister, Alice McDonald.

She is survived by her four children, Shawn Conners and husband Richard of Queensbury, JoAnn Sgorrano and husband Guy of Pawleys Island, SC, Colleen Godfrey and husband Stephen of Moreau, and son Kim Nadeau and wife Robin of Fort Edward, seven grandchildren: Todd Sgorrano and wife Amy, Estele LaClair and husband Jeff, Stephanie and Scott Godfrey, Krystal and Alexis Nadeau, Stacey and Aubrey Constantineau; seven great-grandchildren: Hunter, Griffin and Mia Sgorrano, Alex, Jeremy, and Zachary LaClair and Connor and Jordyn Currie as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A very special thank you to the staff at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, where she lived for the past 5 years. A thank you to her valued friends and constant visitors, Karen Bennett and Leah Manell.

At Muriel’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A funeral service and burial will be private for the family.
